Receiving Specialist

The Receiving Specialist ensures that all incoming shipments, tools, equipment, and supplies are received accurately, inspected thoroughly, and documented correctly. This role requires close coordination with procurement, freight forwarders, technicians, and warehouse staff to ensure every item is accounted for, undamaged, and stored in the proper location.

Core Responsibilities

  • Receive all incoming shipments and verify quantities against purchase orders, packing lists, or invoices.
  • Inspect items for damage, defects, or inconsistencies and report discrepancies immediately.
  • Record and update receipt details in warehouse or inventory systems with accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse teams to route materials to the correct shelf, technician, or job site.
  • Label, scan, and organize received items for easy storage and retrieval.
  • Assist in unloading delivery trucks, staging pallets, and organizing the receiving area.
  • Maintain detailed records of deliveries, discrepancies, and vendor communications.
  • Ensure that received goods are stored safely and securely to prevent loss or damage.
  • Support cycle counts and inventory audits by providing accurate receiving data.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in receiving, warehousing, or logistics.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling documentation.
  • Knowledge of packing lists, POs, and freight documentation.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and/or inventory software.
