Job Summary
The IT Field Technician is a hands-on, multi-site support role within the Information Technology department at Aetos Holdings Limited. Based in Nassau, The Bahamas, this position is responsible for providing frontline technical support across our restaurant locations, warehouses, and offices. The Field Technician troubleshoots and resolves connectivity, point-of-sale (POS), readerboard, and general hardware/software issues to keep operations running smoothly.
This role also plays a key part in new store installations, working alongside senior IT staff to ensure all technology systems are fully operational before opening. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, field-based environment and takes pride in delivering reliable, timely support.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Field Support & Troubleshooting
- Travel to store locations, warehouses, and offices to diagnose and resolve IT issues on-site.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues including cabling, network terminations, Wi-Fi access points, and router configurations.
- Diagnose and resolve POS system issues (terminals, kitchen display systems, and credit card readers) to minimize disruption to sales operations.
- Troubleshoot and maintain readerboard/menu board systems at restaurant locations.
- Respond to and resolve day-to-day issues with PCs, printers, monitors, and other supported equipment.
- Operate diagnostic hardware and software tools to identify root causes of technical problems.
Installation & Setup
- Perform routine installation, relocation, modification, and repair of IT-supported equipment including PCs, POS terminals, printers, Wi-Fi APs, routers, NVRs, and cameras.
- Assist with the setup and deployment of IT systems for new store openings, including staging and testing of equipment prior to launch.
- Load and configure operating systems, software applications, and hardware components as needed.
Documentation & Communication
- Use the IT ticketing system to record, track, and document all support activities, including steps taken to resolve issues.
- Document all work performed, including inventory usage, equipment moves between locations, and any system changes.
- Provide clear and appropriate narrative information in tickets and reports as required.
- Escalate complex or critical issues to senior IT personnel or third-party vendors in a timely manner.
- Consult with senior technicians and engineers for guidance on complex problems.
General
- Perform other IT-related tasks as assigned that fall within the scope of the role and skill set.

Qualifications & Requirements
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of hands-on experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or field technician role.
- Practical knowledge of PC hardware, software troubleshooting, and basic networking (cabling, Wi-Fi, connectivity).
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems or a willingness to learn.
- Valid Bahamian driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between store locations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or vocational training in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent (training support may be available).
- Experience with restaurant or retail technology environments.
- Experience with NVR/camera surveillance systems.
- Familiarity with inventory management or ticketing systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry IT equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work on ladders, under desks, and in confined spaces during installations.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly between multiple locations across Nassau and The Bahamas.
Work Schedule & Availability
This is not a standard 9-to-5 position. The nature of field-based restaurant and retail IT support requires flexibility in scheduling. Candidates should be aware of the following:
- Work hours will vary and may include early mornings, evenings, and hours outside of a traditional office schedule depending on operational needs.
- A rotational weekend on-call schedule is in effect. When on call, the technician must be available and responsive to resolve issues affecting store operations in a timely manner.
- During new store openings or critical system rollouts, extended hours and weekend work may be required.
- Flexibility and reliability in scheduling are essential requirements of this role.
