Staff Accountant

We are a dynamic and growing organization committed to operational excellence, financial integrity, and continuous improvement. As part of our strategic expansion, we are seeking a highly competent and results-driven Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team.


Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the financial operations of the organization by ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, internal control adherence, and timely processing of financial data. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial information and supporting strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure proper account classification
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Maintain fixed asset and inventory records

Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

  • Prepare and submit monthly government/statutory filings and required reports
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor rental agreements and contractual obligations to ensure terms are adhered to

Internal Controls & Audit Support

  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining internal control procedures
  • Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules and documentation
  • Identify areas for process improvement and recommend enhancements

Budgeting & Financial Analysis

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
  • Provide variance analysis and reconciliation support
  • Support inventory verification and cost monitoring processes

Qualifications & Experience

  • Associate Degree in Accounting or related discipline
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in a similar accounting role

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant professional experience

Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) will be considered an asset.


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving abilities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
