Job Summary
The General Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of their restaurant by adhering to approved Wendy’s procedures. They must achieve a ‘Sparkle’ QSC level or higher while meeting sales targets and managing food costs and other financial metrics set by senior management.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to)
- Identifies unfavorable trends in controllable costs, QSC, sales, and profits, and implements strategic plans to drive improvement.
- Determines crew staffing needs, ensures Co-Managers hire in advance, and maintains adequate crew depth for each shift.
- Provides ongoing training for management and crew on food preparation, service procedures, customer courtesy, and operational updates.
- Engages with customers through walk-throughs and off-line interactions to assess service quality, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
- Manages labor costs, food costs, and inventory levels to optimize store profitability while ensuring product availability.
- Develops and enforces a cleaning plan, delegates tasks to management, and ensures compliance with cleanliness standards.
- Coaches and develops managers, identifies high-performing crew for promotions, and implements strategies to maximize retention.
- Adheres to company policies, cash control, security procedures, and safety standards while ensuring seamless daily operations.
Job Requirements
- Excellent people leadership and guest service skills required.
- Ability to create and implement operational strategies to drive success.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food sanitation regulations.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of restaurant management experience.
- Experience in quick-service, fast food, or casual dining restaurants is a plus.
